About Prosper

Prosper is a hand-picked collection of open-source software. Every tool in it has its own page: what it does, what it replaces, how active the project is on GitHub, and which other tools sit next to it.

It’s deliberately small. The aim isn’t to list everything on GitHub, but to make the good options easy to find without the rabbit hole.

Open-source software lets you see how a tool works, run it where you choose, and keep your data when you move on. That kind of control is worth a lot, even when running the tool still takes time or money.

Prosper exists to put more of these tools in front of the people who’d benefit from them.

If you build an open-source tool that belongs here, submit it. To put it at the top of the collection for a week or a month, see promotion.
