Overview
SearXNG is a free, open-source metasearch engine. It sends your query to many search services at once and combines the results, without tracking or profiling you. You can use one of the public instances run by the community or host your own.
What it does well
SearXNG aggregates results from up to 261 search services and is available in 58 translations. It works without JavaScript and cookies, can be used over Tor, and is easy to plug into other tools as a search backend. Self-hosting lets you choose and configure exactly which engines it queries.
Why it’s in the collection
SearXNG gives you web search without handing your query history to an ad company, and lets you run the search engine yourself. It is AGPL-licensed and community-run.
