Overview
Sent is a messaging API that connects your product to SMS, WhatsApp and RCS through one interface. You send a message with a recipient and a template, and Sent handles routing, channel rules, formatting, compliance and delivery. Its SDKs and agent plugin are open source; the service itself is not.
What it does well
Sent checks channel availability, customer preferences, carrier health, delivery performance and cost before each send, picks a route, and falls back to another if delivery fails. Official SDKs cover TypeScript, Python, Go, Java, C#, Ruby and PHP, and an agent plugin with MCP tools lets AI agents send and track messages.
Why it’s in the collection
Sent saves building a separate integration for every messaging channel, and its open-source SDKs and agent plugin make it easy to wire into apps and AI agents.
License
Sent's messaging service is a closed, paid platform. What's open source are its SDKs (Apache-2.0) and its agent plugin (MIT). The GitHub stats shown are for the TypeScript SDK.
