Overview
Akaunting is online accounting software for small businesses and freelancers. It is built with Laravel and Vue, has a modular structure, and can be extended through an app store. It runs on your own server or in the cloud.
What it does well
Akaunting handles invoices, bills, payments, customers and vendors, with reports and a REST API. It works with MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL or SQLite, and a developer portal lets others build and sell apps for it.
Why it’s in the collection
Akaunting is a simple, self-hostable accounting app for very small businesses. Check its license limits before relying on it.
License
Akaunting uses the Business Source License, which is not an open-source license. Production use is allowed only for up to 2 users, 1 company and 1,000 invoices, without rebranding it or offering it as an accounting service; beyond that you need a commercial license. Each version becomes open source four years after it is published.
