Overview
Firefly III is a free, open-source, self-hosted manager for your personal finances. It helps you track your expenses and income so you can spend less and save more, without uploading your financial records to the cloud. You can install it on your own server, run it with Docker or Kubernetes, or try the demo site first.
What it does well
Firefly III uses double-entry bookkeeping and supports budgets, categories and tags. It handles recurring transactions and rule-based processing of transactions with rules you create yourself. It never contacts external servers unless you tell it to, and a REST JSON API covers almost every part of the app.
Why it’s in the collection
Firefly III is a thorough, privacy-first finance manager for people who want full control over their financial data. It has been developed for years and is AGPL-licensed.
