Overview
Floci is a free, open-source local AWS emulator for development, testing and CI. It gives you AWS-shaped services on your own machine, with no cloud account, auth token or paid feature gates, and starts with docker compose up. It is designed as a drop-in replacement for LocalStack.
What it does well
You point your AWS SDK, the AWS CLI, Terraform, CDK, OpenTofu or your test suite at Floci, and it behaves like AWS locally, so tests run fast and offline without cloud costs. Every feature is available to everyone, with no telemetry, and it works with Testcontainers. Moving from LocalStack is a matter of swapping the container image.
Why it’s in the collection
Floci makes it free and easy to test AWS code locally and in CI, without accounts or paywalled features. It is MIT-licensed.
