Overview
Harness Open Source is an all-in-one, open-source development platform that combines source code hosting, automated CI/CD pipelines, hosted development environments called Gitspaces, and artifact registries. It runs as a single Docker container. It is the next generation of the Drone CI project, from the company Harness.
What it does well
Harness Open Source lets a team host Git repositories with pull requests and code review, run pipelines to build, test and deploy, spin up ready-to-code development environments, and store build artifacts, all in one self-hosted app. Drone remains available on its own branch while Harness works toward full pipeline parity, so existing Drone users have a migration path.
Why it’s in the collection
Harness puts code hosting, CI/CD and dev environments into one self-hosted platform instead of three separate products. It is Apache-licensed.
