Overview
JumpServer is an open-source Privileged Access Management (PAM) platform, also known as a bastion host. It gives DevOps and IT teams one web-based place to securely access servers and other infrastructure over SSH, RDP and more, including Kubernetes clusters, databases and web apps, with AI-powered capabilities. It installs on a Linux server with a single script.
What it does well
JumpServer centralizes who can access which systems, records sessions for review, and lets people connect through the browser without exposing systems directly. It supports many protocols and asset types, and its components are grouped into core projects for the platform, web interface, terminal and protocol connections, with paid enterprise components for more applications and protocols. Its maintainers publish clear long-term support timelines.
Why it’s in the collection
JumpServer gives teams of any size the controlled, audited infrastructure access that usually requires expensive enterprise PAM software. It is GPL-licensed and widely deployed.
