OpenSEO

OpenSEO is an open-source SEO tool and an alternative to Semrush and Ahrefs. Instead of a subscription, you bring your own DataForSEO API key and pay only for the data you use. It can be self-hosted with Docker or on Cloudflare, or used as a hosted version.

OpenSEO covers keyword research, rank tracking, competitor insights, backlinks, site audits and AI visibility, in focused workflows instead of a large suite. It exposes an MCP server and ready-made Agent Skills, so AI agents such as Claude Code, Codex or ChatGPT can work with your SEO data directly.

OpenSEO turns SEO data into something you pay for by use rather than a large monthly plan, and it is built to work with AI agents from the start. It is MIT-licensed.
