Overview
Passbolt is a security-first, open-source password manager for teams. It helps organisations centralise, organise and share passwords and secrets. You run it on your own server, and use it through browser extensions, mobile apps, a desktop app and a CLI.
What it does well
Passbolt uses user-owned secret keys and end-to-end encryption, and is audited several times a year. Teams can share credentials securely with policies and audit trails. It is based in Luxembourg, collects no personal data or telemetry, and can run in an air-gapped environment.
Why it’s in the collection
Passbolt is built around sharing passwords safely within a team, which is where most password managers charge per seat. Its Community Edition is AGPL-licensed.
