Overview
TDengine is an open-source, high-performance, cloud-native time-series database designed for the Internet of Things, connected cars and industrial IoT. It stores and analyzes huge volumes of sensor and machine data, and adds AI features for forecasting and anomaly detection. You can self-host it or use the hosted TDengine Cloud.
What it does well
TDengine is built to handle high cardinality, with billions of data collection points. Built-in caching, stream processing and data subscription simplify the overall system and reduce operating costs. Its distributed design separates compute and storage, supports Kubernetes, and uses "super tables" to make analysis across many devices simple. A built-in AI agent, TDgpt, connects to time-series foundation models and LLMs for forecasting and anomaly detection.
Why it’s in the collection
TDengine is purpose-built for the scale of industrial and IoT data, and its core, including clustering and the AI agent, is open source. It is AGPL-licensed.
