Overview
Helium is a Chromium-based web browser built around privacy and a clean, minimal interface. It blocks ads and trackers by default and is available for macOS, Linux and Windows. It is made by the team behind cobalt and is currently in beta.
What it does well
Helium includes uBlock Origin built in, removes the clutter and data collection of mainstream browsers, and supports Chrome extensions. Search shortcuts let you jump straight to results on other sites, and all of its packaging, services and components are open source.
Why it’s in the collection
Helium gives you the compatibility of Chrome without Google's data collection or the clutter, and it works well out of the box. It is GPL-licensed, with every part of the project open.
