Medusa

Medusa is an open-source commerce platform with a built-in framework for customisation, so you can build custom commerce applications without rewriting core commerce logic. You can run it yourself or on Medusa Cloud, a managed environment with automated deployments.

Medusa provides commerce modules for products, orders, carts, payments and more, plus a customisable admin dashboard. It is built for developers and AI agents, with MCP, a CLI and Agent Skills, and has integrations for payments, fulfilment and search.

Medusa suits stores that have outgrown a template, where the commerce logic itself needs to change. Its core is MIT-licensed.
