Overview
Bruno is an open-source API client that stores your collections as plain-text files in a folder on your filesystem, next to your code. You collaborate on them with Git, like any other code. Bruno is offline-only, with no cloud sync, account or login.
What it does well
Because collections are plain text, you can branch, diff, review and merge them in your normal Git workflow. Bruno runs as a desktop app, in your IDE and terminal through its CLI, and with AI agents. Most features are open source, with paid versions for extra team features.
Why it’s in the collection
Bruno is the leading Postman alternative for teams that want API collections versioned with their code. It is MIT-licensed.
