Overview
OpenHands is an open-source, self-hosted control centre for coding agents and automations. It runs its own open-source agent, as well as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, Pi, OpenCode or any compatible agent, on your laptop, a server or in the cloud.
What it does well
OpenHands turns coding agents into an always-on engineering team. You can start conversations, automate tasks such as reports posted to Slack or breaking GitHub issues into subtasks, and connect to several agent backends, including Docker containers, VMs or company servers, from one interface. Running it on a server lets agents keep working when your laptop is closed.
Why it’s in the collection
OpenHands, formerly OpenDevin, is one of the leading open-source autonomous coding agents, with a large community and strong benchmark results. It is MIT-licensed.
