Overview
PhotoPrism is an AI-powered, privacy-first app for browsing, organising and sharing photos and videos. It runs self-hosted or in the cloud, and works as an installable web app on phones, tablets and computers. A public demo is available.
What it does well
PhotoPrism handles RAW images and video formats, labels pictures automatically by content and location, and recognises faces. It has combinable search filters, Live Photo playback, world maps with privacy-preserving geocoding, and imports metadata from Exif, XMP and Google Photos. Phones can back up through compatible apps such as PhotoSync.
Why it’s in the collection
PhotoPrism is a polished way to organise a large photo library you already have, with automatic tagging and search. It is AGPL-licensed.
