Overview
Qwen Code is an open-source AI coding agent from the Qwen team, for the terminal, editor, desktop, browser and chat. It works with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and Qwen APIs, other providers, or local models through Ollama and vLLM, and you can switch models while it runs.
What it does well
Qwen Code includes auto-memory, auto-skills, subagents, agent teams and MCP support out of the box. Beyond the terminal it has IDE plugins, a desktop app, a web UI, SDKs and chat integrations such as Telegram. It installs with a script, npm or Homebrew.
Why it’s in the collection
Qwen Code pairs an open-source agent with open-weight Qwen models, so you can run the whole stack without a vendor in the loop. It is Apache-licensed.
