Overview
ShareX is a free, open-source screenshot tool, screen recorder, file sharing tool and productivity app for Windows. It is built for people who take lots of screenshots and short recordings: developers, designers, support teams, writers and testers.
What it does well
ShareX captures the full screen, a window, a region or a scrolling page, and records video or GIFs. Captures can be annotated with arrows, text, shapes and blur, then automatically copied, saved, edited or uploaded to many different destinations with a shareable link. It also extracts text with OCR, scans QR codes, picks colors and runs custom workflows from hotkeys.
Why it’s in the collection
ShareX replaces a handful of paid screenshot and upload tools with one free app, and it's fully customizable. It is GPL-licensed and actively developed.
