Overview
Graphite is a free, open-source vector and raster graphics editor, available now in alpha and running in the browser. It combines layer-based compositing with node-based generative design in a fully nondestructive workflow. It started as a vector editor and is growing into an all-in-one graphics toolbox.
What it does well
Graphite's familiar drawing tools sit on top of a node graph, so every edit stays editable and procedural: you can go back and change any step. It handles vector and raster work in one app, runs in the browser without installing, and is written in Rust. It is entirely community-built and funded.
Why it’s in the collection
Graphite rethinks the design app from the ground up around procedural, nondestructive editing, and it's free for everyone. It is dual-licensed under MIT and Apache 2.0.
