Overview
WezTerm is a powerful, open-source, cross-platform terminal emulator and multiplexer written in Rust. It runs on Linux, macOS, Windows 10, FreeBSD and NetBSD, and is configured with Lua.
What it does well
WezTerm multiplexes panes, tabs and windows on local and remote hosts, with native mouse support and scrollback, and includes an SSH client with native tabs. It supports ligatures, color emoji and font fallback, hyperlinks, searchable scrollback, quick select mode, and the iTerm2 and Kitty image protocols. It can even connect to serial ports for devices like Arduino.
Why it’s in the collection
WezTerm puts a terminal and a multiplexer in one app that behaves the same on every operating system, configured with a real programming language. It is MIT-licensed.
