Overview

CopilotKit is an open-source framework for putting AI agents in front of real users. You bring an agent built on any framework, and CopilotKit gives it a chat interface, generative UI, shared state and human-in-the-loop steps inside your app. It supports React, Angular, Vue and React Native, plus Slack and Microsoft Teams.

What it does well

CopilotKit connects your frontend to your agent through AG-UI, the open Agent-User Interaction protocol that the CopilotKit team created. Agents can render UI components, read and update app state, and pause for a user's approval. A single command scaffolds a new project or walks a coding agent through adding CopilotKit to an existing one, and Channels renders the same components as native Slack and Teams messages.

Why it’s in the collection

Most agent frameworks stop at the backend; CopilotKit handles the part users actually see. It is MIT-licensed and framework-neutral, so it works with whatever agent stack you already use.
