Overview
FastGPT is a platform for building AI agents on top of your own knowledge. It handles document processing and model calls out of the box, and lets you design agents as visual workflows. You can self-host it with Docker or use the hosted cloud version.
What it does well
FastGPT imports TXT, Markdown, HTML, PDF, Word, PowerPoint, CSV and Excel files, or reads URLs, into knowledge bases that use hybrid search and reranking. Workflows combine agent skills, plugins, user interaction and basic RPA steps, and support MCP in both directions. Debugging tools show the full call chain and the sources behind each answer, and finished apps can be shared by link or embedded in a website with an iframe.
Why it’s in the collection
FastGPT covers the whole path from your documents to a working AI assistant in one self-hosted app, with visual tools that non-developers can follow. Its license adds conditions, explained below.
License
FastGPT uses its own license: Apache 2.0 plus extra conditions. You can self-host it, modify it and use it commercially, including inside your own products. You need a commercial license to run it as a multi-tenant SaaS similar to FastGPT, and you can't remove or change the FastGPT logo and copyright information in the console. Because of those conditions it isn't open source in the strict sense.
