Overview
Handy is a cross-platform desktop app for private speech transcription. You press a shortcut, speak, and your words appear in whatever text field you're using, all processed on your own computer without sending audio to the cloud.
What it does well
Handy records while you hold or toggle a shortcut, filters out silence, and transcribes with your choice of models, including Whisper models with GPU acceleration. The text is pasted straight into the app you're using. It aims to be simple, extensible and accessible to everyone.
