Overview
FluidVoice is an open-source dictation app for macOS that turns speech into text in any app, using speech recognition that runs on your Mac. Versions for iOS and Windows are planned.
What it does well
FluidVoice transcribes with almost no delay using a rebuilt Parakeet speech model, works with optional cloud AI providers, and can rewrite or format text after you speak. An optional add-on called Fluid Intelligence, maintained privately, adds on-device AI enhancement such as smart formatting and capitalisation, without sending data anywhere.
Why it’s in the collection
FluidVoice is a fast, private alternative to subscription dictation apps, with your voice processed on your own Mac. The app is GPL-licensed and installs with Homebrew.
