Overview

Wave is an open-source, AI-integrated terminal for macOS, Linux and Windows. It works with any AI model: bring your own API keys for OpenAI, Claude or Gemini, or run local models through Ollama and LM Studio. It combines terminals, editors, file previews and a web browser in one workspace.

What it does well

Wave AI reads your terminal output and workspace to help debug and can edit files with your approval. SSH sessions survive network interruptions and restarts with automatic reconnection, and a built-in editor and file previews let you work on remote files without leaving the terminal. You can arrange terminals, editors, browsers and AI chats with drag and drop, store secrets securely, and manage the workspace from the command line with wsh.

Why it’s in the collection

Wave rethinks the terminal as a full workspace, especially for people who spend their day on remote machines. It is Apache-licensed.
