MaxKB

MaxKB (Max Knowledge Brain) is an open-source platform for building enterprise-grade AI agents. It combines retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows and tool use, and is used for customer service, internal knowledge bases, research and education. It runs with a single Docker command and comes from the team behind 1Panel.

MaxKB lets you upload documents or crawl websites into knowledge bases, with automatic splitting and vectorization to reduce hallucinations. A workflow engine, function library and MCP tool use let you orchestrate complex AI processes. It works with private models such as DeepSeek, Llama and Qwen and public ones like OpenAI, Claude and Gemini, handles text, images, audio and video, and plugs into existing systems with little or no code.

MaxKB gives companies a self-hosted way to turn their documents into reliable AI assistants, with any model they choose. It is GPL-licensed.
